Space Wolves are my main army and Noise Marines will be my 'side army' when the new Chaos Legions Codex comes out.Once again, when it comes to enjoying the hobby I have to take my hat off to James. Because when he loses heart a little or simply gets tired of his Dark Angels (Deathwing and Ravenwing too) he turns to his little Thousand Sons army and gets them out for a couple of games instead -and cackles evilly all through the game!
I could have chosen Khorne, but my Space Wolves are good at chopping things up.
I could have chosen Nurgle, but my Space Wolves play in a similar way to Deathguard.
So that leaves me with Slaanesh (James has already taken Tzeentch) and Noise Marines.
I've always liked the idea of Noise Marines anyway and after seeing Nacho's incredible comic illustrations, I knew I wanted some!
Obviously, this is quite a way off, but if you think about it, a number of things are going to happen which should make Noise Marines very good.
Seriously, do your maths on the latter point. It makes sense if the new Chaos Legions Codex is balanced against the books that went before it.
Sadly the Noise Marines won't get their own blog (Hey, you want me to keep writing this one right?), but they will make cameo appearances on the Space Wolves Blog.
In the meantime (which could be 2 years) I'm looking forward to painting pink!

what is that picture from?
a guy at my local game store made some noise marines (i think that he uses the regular chaos codex now), and he did them up in KISS colors. made little speakers out of balsa wood and attached them to the shoulder pads, instead of bolters they have guitars. he put Marshal amps on his rhinos, and he has a chaos defiler that has a KISS head (simmons i think) from an action figure on top and a scaled up guitar in its pincer claws. looks really good.
what's the fluff behind the noise marines? i've never heard of them before (i thought the guy was just making a joke when he called them "noise marines").

Space Wolves are my main army, with Noise Marines as my side army as well. I absolutely love the amount of shots a squad of rockstars can put out.

plastic would be cool, but since they've done nurgle fine cast they may in fact get finecast models instead.
Whats your thoughts about the fine cast stuff, I havent seen it mentioned on teh blog :P

Because of how many times I've had to call Forgeworld and get faulty/poor cast parts replaces, I expected Fine Cast to have similar problems.
I'm just glad I make all my models in plastic.

Nothing wrong with putting up non-Space Wolf articles. There's only so much content they can provide after all.

On the finecast stuff they are actually very good models and improving with each batch that comes through. Initially they had a problem with some of the moulds running too hot which created air bubbles but the most recent deliveries have been much better. If your worried then leave it another month or two for them to really get the process down to a tee then have another look. It does also have the benefit of a reduced level of shrinkage compared to metal so older models which were at a slightly smaller scale now fit alongside existing models slightly better. Also, if you do happen to pick one up in a GW and there is a problem with it they will do a straight exchange there and then.

Something to look forward to. I would be interested to see the conversions and list you would come up with. To put Noise marines together now is so exspensive. Plastic models would be an improvement.

that pic is from dawn of war.
If GW do a decent job with chaos legions, I may find myself tempted towards the night lords or alpha legion. Although I have to admit the thousand sons sound fun. Won't get any for a long while though as I have only just started the wolves...
