Bow to your new monkey overlords! The 1500 points Jokaero army list has landed thanks to the Grey Knights Codex. Warhammer 40K will never be the same. There appears to be no limit on how many of a particular henchmen type you can get in a single unit.
A Jokaero weaponsmith is a type of Inquisitorial henchman.
Inqusitor Corteaz makes Henchmen units available as Troops.
You can see where this is going...
Laugh Now, But One Day We'll Be In Charge
Inquistor Corteaz (The head monkey!)
7 Jokaero
8 Jokaero
8 Jokaero
8 Jokaero
8 Jokaero
THOUGHTS
"Why?" That's probably what you're thinking, right?
Well, it's a cool opportunity to field a monkey army in Warhammer 40K. I honestly don't expect it to win any games.
That said, every Jokaero can build lascannons, multi meltas or heavy flamers on the spur of the monent and fire them all at once.
Hilarity!
At 1500 points could 39 lascannons do the trick?
Their weaponsmith abilities also give them (because you get everything on the random chart due to having so many of them): 5+ invulnerable save, +1 to their save (6+ whoo!), +12" to the range of their guns and...another special rule I can't remember.
Frankly, I think it's the best thing to have come out of the Grey Knights Codex.

Not seen the rules yet...but seems credible enough. If you can pull enough fire power out then im sure those lascannon toating orangatangs could take down a fair amount!
Can you choose what weapon they will make?
Know if I was facing that many las' id be *freem* ......
That said...is it laz or lase?

I agree, really cool opportunity. I actually could see this beating some armies (Tau, I'm looking at you specifically). 39 Lascannons facing the Tau would take out pretty much everything they have turn 1!

haha this is genius! no ork is going to want to get close to that many heavy flamers either.
pretty sure the other rule is rending weapons btw, making heavy flamers even better.

Don't know if this is the final incarnation of the rule, but if I'm reading this right you'd only have 2 of the rules, as having more than one Jokaero adds 1 to the result of the roll, not another roll.
You'd automatically get the 6+ result in every squad, but that'd be it.
I love the concept though, and I honestly don't know what I would do if I was facing this; you need to close with them because that many lascannons will absolutely wreck a lot of armies pretty easily, but getting close lets them use the multimeltas and heavy flamers...
About the only chance I can see is getting them in CC, as their stats are miserable for that, but they fall over so easily that whatever just hit them are now stuck out in the open looking at all of the flamers/meltas/lascannons pointing at them now.

It says on the 6+ result that you roll TWICE on the chart, but cannot have a duplicate result.
Also, you can only use each Jokaero once to contribute to the roll.
So if you have 8 in a unit, you can use +5 for the first roll (3 jokaero left) to make sure you get a 6. Then use +3 for the next roll, then roll all the other 6 rolls as normally.
Unless you roll a lot of 1s, you're going to get all the abilities.

I know this quesion don't belong here but I feel it is the fastest way to get an honest answer. If Logan Grimnar embarks into a Land Raider can he give the Land Raider the Tank Hunter Ability?

What the hell is a Jokaero?

RE: Logan's Land Raider: nope, he's not joining its squad, he's riding in it. Does your moms' minivan gain Asks Stupid Questions when she drives you home from the mall?

What the hell is a Jokaero?
WL-Herger remembers! he was there in the old time before we discovered the genestealer was present on many planets and when guard had beastmen and landspeeders.
*shakes his head*
They are orangutan that make your digital weapons! yep xeno tech. wont use em myself for that reason!

You only get one roll per squad, no matter how many jokaero are in it, so each squad gets an auto 6, so just roll twice. And you ignore duplicates, not reroll em, so chances of rolling something worthless (1, 6, 5, doubles) are pretty high.
That said, each squad should have a handful of naked henchmen for ablative wounds. 4 pts each, and a decent chance to have a 4+ or 5++ from the jokaero is decent, and keeps those monkeys shooting longer.

Jokaero are intriguing. They are orangutan-esque creatures that have a natural talent with technology, and create weapons instinctively. They were in RT, 40k1st ed.
Whether they are actually intelligent or not has never been proven. The technology thing seems to be an inate ability rather than a taught skill.
From 2nd to 4th edition they were mostly famous for making Jokaero Digital Weapons, guns that look like rings. But now they're returned from the Rogue Trader wilderness, and 5th edition will see them rule the world!
Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time, it was... We finally really did it. You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!

This wouldn't work since the rule states you get a plus 1 for each jokero in the unit, every roll would be at +8 (since you always get the bonus to the roll and cannot choose to not take it), this means you would always roll 6+ so you would in fact never gain any special rules since after the first 6+ roll you ignore all other 6+ rolls,

A better combination is to take 5 Jokaero in Chimeras.
They can sit back and fire five weapons from the Chimera fire points and have armour 12 to protect them.

I got you covered for your army...

Ok so just a quick confirmation after spending all day with the Codex that Nuclear is correct in the above post:
Jokaero give you a roll on the magic weapon table, for each one in the squad after the initial you get +1. So with 8 Jokaero you get +7 on your roll. A 6+ is that you get to roll twice on the table BUT you continue to add on the +7 in subsequent rolls so will always end up with a 6+, and duplicates are ignored.
So taking more than even 3 Jokaero and you are bascially shutting off access to the table.
From memory it was:
1 - nothing
2 - +1 to armour saves
3 - + 12" range
4 - Rending
5 - Unit gets a 5+ inv save (Jokaero already have a 5+ inv save so pretty worthless)
6 or more - Roll twice again on the table discounting/ignoring duplicates.
So taking lots of Jokaero means no bonus'.
That said lots of Lascannon/Multi-Melta/Heavy Flamer shots aint bad.
For 1480pts you can do this:
Corteaz
5 Jokaero + Chimera
5 Jokaero + Chimera
5 Jokaero + Chimera
5 Jokaero + Chimera
5 Jokaero + Chimera
5 Jokaero + Chimera
20pts let to waste on some upgrade somewhere.
It does mean you have 30 Lascannons a turn plus the 6 Chimeras which in all aint too shabby.

Interesting lists. It's got me thinking about monkey wagons for sure.
