Storm Raven Swoops In!

The Storm Raven is here and it's not looking quite as ugly as we first thought. I never realised it could have twin linked assault cannons, plasma cannons or lascannons in the turret either.

In fact, I'm quite jealous that the Space Wolves can't have one. It's probably the first time I've had reason to complain that all Space Marine Chapters don't get to choose from the same motor pool.

Another pleasant surprise is the Blood Angels Dreadnought release to coincide. The 'Furioso' kit can be used to make a Furioso, Death Company and Librarian Dreadnought with a variety of arms and chassis for each type.

I'm particularly taken with the Blood Talons of the Death Company Dreadnought. They'd be perfect for Space Wolves Dreadnoughts -especially if you're doing a Bjorn The Fell Handed conversion.

Unless one of you fine individuals (yes, you!) will send me a pair, I guess I'll have to fight my way through the bitz sites and eBay to get my hands on them come February.

Both are already available to pre-order for considerably less at Wayland Games (gawd bless 'em) and should ship early February.

Storm Raven -£33
Furioso Dreadnought -£22

Hmmm, at that price I'm tempted to convert a Storm Raven as a Space Wolves objective or something. Heck, even to count it as a bastion for Planet Strike.

Either way, I should paint what I've got before buying anymore. I've got enough Pre Heresy Space Wolves on my painting table as it is...

I may be in the minority on this but I plan buying some of these for my Space Wolves and my Crimson Fists. For fun games and Apoc games I do not see why not. As long as your opponent agrees should not be an issue.

Of course my new Gry Knights will also have a few of these as well. but the Sons of Russ will have at least one.

Believe , all space marine armies will get access via white dwarf , think of the money they will make by giving it to all and sundry rather than just BA players ...

Anyone got the full stats on that Stormraven... What are the side & front armor values ?

It said that Death Company can storm out of it... So... ???? Sanguinary Guard at Sv 2+ making a drop on your wolf ???

How tricky will it be to take it out before anything gets out of it knowing that your space wolf army needs to defeat an ork opponents on your second round of tournament season ?

Dam the Space Wolf motor pool! First we lost the Leman Russ tank to those imperial buggers and now we don't get the metal chicken either. lol i haven't a clue why i'm complaining, my force is all foot sloggers.

I was thinking of this tonight on the way home from work. If they make the Storm Raven an option for all chapters. So far I have not seen anything that says Terminators can not board the transport. So as long as it stays Cap:12, With a Pack of 10 Grey Hunters with Meltas and PF, a WG in Terminator Armor, Combi-Melta, Chain-Fist and Cyclone. Then Tack on a Cheap Dread with Multi-Melta/Missile launcher or DCCW. GO Tank Hunting with this pack of Wolves in a Flying TIN CAN.

Sure its expensive but its fun! Storm Wolf's incoming!

Dont get too excited boys these things suck. Armour 12 is pretty weak for a model that costs 200 pts base and if your up against Hydra spam your turbo boost ain't gonna save you.

I can only see this thing working if your army has some higher priority targets. If we are talking assault squads too I'd rather have a Land Raider for 215 points.

Woohooo, take 2 of the kits and start the kitbashing and TAADAA, you can have a Thunderhawk gunship or transport for a fraction of the price and it's a GW model.

@WolfBrotherKarr

terminator armour counts as 2 power armoured models in a transport. see the "Terminator Armour" entry on page 61 of SWC paragragh 4. So if it's cap is 12, you can get away with 10 grey hunters and a TDA WG
