Dirty Space Wolves Spam

We all love a bit of spam...well thats a lie, I hate the stuff. But when it comes to list building, some of us just can't help ourselves (beardy buggers arn't we).

So here I present you, 2 lists (yes..2 in 1) which take the meaning of spam to the next level. Im trying to throw out some really harsh shooty lists to make Imperial guard and tau cry, but still have enough combat punch to dish the pain out when the battle draws to a scrap.

Please be advised, what you are about to see is extreme amounts of cheese...

Logan Missile McSpam

HQ
Logan Grimnar: 275pts

Elites
Lone Wolf: 95pts

6 Long Fangs: 140pts
5 Rockets

5 Long Fangs: 115pts
4 Rockets.

Grand Total: 1750pts

Pretty straight forward, move your models forward, hog cover and shoot. Yay for simplicity! If you want more melta just swap out those combi-plasma guns for another combi-melta.

Next we have....

Drop Pod Of McDoomSpam

HQ
Rune Priest: 100pts

6 Long Fangs: 140pts
5 Rockets.

Grand Total: 1746pts

Rawrrrr! Here we have 8 Drop pods ready to land and smash face with. If your opponent gets first turn and deploys, first 4 of your drop pods should be the 2 chain fist units & the 2 Combi-melta Wolf guard. If you get first turn and they deploy, throw down those grey hunters without chain fists and the combi-melta squad first. Reason being is the chainfists will need to counter what your opponent does in their turn 1 and 2, rather than die when they land (ofcourse they might not die anyways if your deployment is clever).

If your opponent reserves, leave those combi-melta wolf guard in your second lot of pods, and hope that your opponent rolls on before you do lol. Its a great army,e specially against gunline armies, but will suffer against hordes and the like!

So thats it for todays intense cheese-tastic lists. What else do people have to offer? Lets hear your thoughts :)

I'd be tempted to drop the Lone Wolves from the first list for Land Speeder Typhoons - even more missile fun!

If you can scab the points for a drop pod for one squad of long fangs (just make 2 of them squads of 5), or can find any other way to get a pod in. You'll be able to drop 5 of those nasty cans-o-spam on turn 1.

Mabey change heavy support to this?

Heavy Support
6 Long Fangs: 175pts
5 Multi Melta
Drop Pod.

5 Long Fangs: 115pts
4 Rockets.

5 Long Fangs: 115pts
4 Rockets.

With some points left over. I'm too lazy to work out what i'd do with them atm.

Thats for the second list of course.

If hose 3 wolf guard are just melta-cide in the second list it isn't too many more points to stretch to a multi-melta dread. Not sure if this is worth the points though.

How about this for some fun with Ragnar?

Ragnar =240

Land Raider Redeemer =240

Land Raider =260
Multi Melta

Land Raider =260
Multi Melta

3x WG =129
3x Fist
3x Combi-melta

7x Hunters =160
Melta
Totem
MotW
Fist

7x Hunters =160
Melta
Totem
MotW
Fist

7x Hunters =160
Melta
Totem
MotW
Fist

Speeder =70
Heavy Flamer
Multi Melta

Speeder =70

Meltas on Raiders are a bit redundant though.

Dw Brad your post will be up soon ;)

As for Melta-dreads, thats a good idea, but its 140pts compared to the 105pts. Its a big increase of 70pts which isnt too easy to find haha.

Lone wolves help out the combat punch of the army, rather than swapping them for more missiles (which yes, gives us more missiles) but doesnt give you the added punch. They are still meant to be balanced, so can take on all sorts of armies :)

Multi-meltas in a pod with logan could be awsome, but without logan then they arn't as effective in my oppinion ofcourse :p could work well if your opponents going second though, so you can set them up to provide a large threat zone within the middle of the board!

Unless I'm missing something, the Logan Missile McSpam points value is incorrect.

It's still a good Missile Spam army, just need to trim a bit to make it legal for 1750 pt game.

Could always loose both melta-cide squads for a venerable melta-dread with all the trimmings, you'd be loosing a pod though so probably not worth it. I happen to like dreads though and dropping them into CC where they can only get hit on front armour is a Good Thing (TM) in my opinion.

The speeders could each be there own separate unit and Razorbacks could swap in Las/Plas combo.

Ryan I think the TL Las spam there. Would make your enemies scratch there heads and look for all the cover they can just so their vechiles are not Lased to space and back.

I honestly don't see the problem with spam in a competitive setting.

Completely off topic, but i'm tipping you blokes have noticed the Space Wolf FAQ is missing from the Games Workshop Website.

Are we getting an update?

Will it be good for us?

The whole FAQ page was down for a couple of days. The BA and SW ones are both missing now.
